Use HotMess honestly and treat people decently. That is most of it.

You must be 18 or older

No exceptions. Accounts we believe belong to minors are removed without warning, and we would rather you report a suspected one than stay quiet.

Be yourself

Use your own photos and real details. Impersonating someone else, recycling another person's pictures, or running a profile on behalf of somebody who has not agreed to it will get the account removed.

What gets you removed

• Harassment, threats, hate speech, or repeated unwanted contact.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever.
• Nudity or sexual imagery in profile photos.
• Scams, solicitation, or asking members for money.
• Scraping the app, or automating accounts and messages.

Reports and enforcement

Reports are reviewed by a person. An upheld report costs 20 points on the reported member's score, and serious cases end the account outright. We do not tell anyone who reported them.

What HotMess is not

The HotMess score measures how much of a profile has been filled in and confirmed on this platform. It is not a background check, not a criminal records search, and not a safety guarantee. A high score means someone completed their profile, not that they are trustworthy. Meet in public, tell a friend where you are going, and use your judgement.

Ending your account

You can delete yours at any time from Settings. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
